Vincent Van Gogh once cut off part of his ear and then hand delivered it to a prostitute.
It's pretty obvious that Van Gogh wasn't a completely sane man. The world's oldest person, Jeanne Calment, remembers meeting Van Gogh and that he was "Dirty, badly dressed and disagreeable." At age 37, he shot himself in a field and died two days later in a hotel room.

At my friend's funeral today, we were standing in the cemetary listening to the preacher.
About halfway through the preacher's speech, a little boy behind me suddenly asked his dad, "He's fine, why are they crying? He's in a better place!"
It made me smile.
