I know how you feel. But no one is just magically good at something. Sometimes people just pick up on it fatser than their peers. But that's no reason to give up before you even start. Hang in there and never give up.

Take lessons and practice. You aren't going to be amazing your first time.

11 months ago Flag

You can't know if you have talent or not if you've never had a chance to play an instrument.

I'm sorry to disappoint all of you who say talent doesn't matter, but in all reality, it does.

If you want to succeed in business, talent matters a great lot.
If you just want to learn how to play for yourself, then talent really doesn't matter, it's all about hard work.

You shouldn't give up on those other careers. What do you expect to live on? Do you know how many musicians don't make it in the industry today?
You can always have a perfectly safe job and still learn how to play music instruments.

You just have to give it a try before you give up. Nobody was born knowing they can play that particular instrument. Try everything you can get your hands on (I mean instruments, I don't know what you meant reading this :P).

You should practice playing instruments every chance you get. Complaining isn't going to made you talented.

musical talent isn't something you know you have until you find the right instrument, whether it be a tuba, a violin, or your voice. as long as you have passion and heart (both of which i can tell you have just from your words) you'll go far in the musical world

I'm 5'3 and weigh around 130. I used to be anerexic and was under 100. Looking back at pictures, I realized that that wasn't enough. It looks gross. Now I do find myself wanting to loose a bit of weight, but you're perfect the way you are. And keep having a good lifestyle!

11 months ago Flag

I am 2 inches smaller than you and I weigh A LOT more than you.you are so lucky! I don't know why your mom is so harsh.Your only pounds over 100 i bet you can get skinnier if you try!:)

Oh I would die just to be your weight.... Oh well I'm gonna go get a cookie. I hope you go get one too :)

it doesn't matter how heavy you are as long as you like your weight it is fine. don't listen to your mother you are completely normal weight and don't need to lose any weight. you are beautiful just the way you are <3

11 months ago Flag

Your mum was probably joking with you. You are bordering on underweight. I am skinny and my mum teases me as a joke too.

11 months ago Flag

besides the fact that you're not even fat, don't listen to her. it's good that you're content with what you look like, so don't change that, no matter what ANYONE else says. even if you were 300lbs, if you were happy noone should tell you to lose weight. it is YOUR body and as long as you feel well in it you shouldn't listen to people who tell you otherwise.
except if they told you it because of your health. then you SHOULD listen. i mean now i guess you are healthy, but even if you were 300lbs and even if you were okay with it, you should have to lose weight to not endanger your health.

You are definitely not fat. Regardless of what your mom keeps claiming, you have a healthy weight. I'm same height weighing 125lbs and I am considered healthy.

Please don't listen to that bull crap about you being fat; I swear she's just trying to pick on you. Unless she is referring to unhealthy food in particular, then you should change your eating habits because it will affect you much later. However either way, your mom had a terrible way of telling you to do something about it.

Be proud of who you are and keep your grounds. I suggest you don't do anything destructive such as starving to "get skinny" just to spite her; it will ruin you more than her words would.

If your mom tells you that again while you are healthy and eating healthy, please just tell her to stfu.

11 months ago Flag

Your mother is one of those people that if I ever met them, I'd be genuinely inclined to punch them in the face.
You are a perfectly healthy weight, and if that is not good enough for her than you need to tell your mother that she can just screw off. Don't let her put you somewhere you don't want to be, don't let her ruin your self image, especially if you're happy with it. It is YOUR body, not hers. If she want's skinny then SHE can stop eating and be skinny as all hell, but she has no right to demand that you lose weight, especially not in that way. She's wrong, what she said was wrong, her opinion is WRONG. The only person who matters that much is YOU. If she can't love and support and be proud of you as you are right now, with every thing you've done, it doesn't matter. If she's that shallow about her own daughter he opinion of you shouldn't matter anyway, because she's not worth it.

You are not fat... not even close to it. You are a healthy weight. You don't need to change to please someone else.. even you mother. You are beautiful :)

I'm 5'3" and weight 135 pounds....

11 months ago Flag

Wanna be skinnny? Don't eat.

^^that's how so many people in first world countries see it. They just think "hmm i wanna lose weight, let's not eat anymore".

1) you don't even need to lose weight- aslong are you are keeping a healthy diet now
2) If you wanna be skinny for your mom, just excercise more because you're weight is already fine and you are just going to cause her more stress and more impatience for you, if you starve yourself.

11 months ago Flag

Don't change something you love about yourself. You'll regret it.

11 months ago Flag

I'm 5'1 and weigh 8 pounds less then you. So my thoughts are, "WHAT THE HOLY MOTHERF*CK IS WRONG WITH YOUR MOTHER?!" and "Why do you believe her anyhow?!"

I love HP. And I love the idea for a tattoo.
I don't believe it will help you permanently. I think you need professional help.
But if you feel you can pull this off, why not.

I'm 18, and I have four tattoos. My favorite one is my most recent. I had the same idea as you, and placed it over the scars on my side. It says 'All Was Well' along with the deathly hallows sign. It's the last three words in the whole series, and it's a reminder that even through everything, all the hurt, all the terrible times, things will get better. It'll be alright. I think yours is a beautiful idea.

Where did you get the idea that money is key to happiness? I thought it was general knowledge that money is not the key to happiness.

You cannot expect to be happy by the simple presence of these materials. The only way materials can make you happy is by utilization; use them as your tools and resource (if possible) to enjoying certain things or achieving certain tasks. Find something you can and want to do, set up some goals in your life.

It's pointless to have expensive boats and fishing equipment if you don't fish the fishes yourself.

11 months ago Flag

You're missing the fact that money can't buy happiness. Even though it can buy ice cream and internet service, it's not the same.

You're missing a good third of every generic movie plot. Money is never the key to happiness, it's the key to buying things that you want.

Maybe you need to think what being happy truly means. Money is nice and everything, but cannot buy you or anyone true happiness. I know that, or I hope my idea is on the right track, and I know money can't replace a mother's hug or an imagination, the things that bring myself happiness. I hope you find what can make you happy; good luck :)

Some peopel are so poor. All they have is money.
I think that may describe your situation. Sure expensive things are nice and all, but money isn't everything.

happiness, i belive, is to be with someone that will always understand you, no matter what happens. can money buy that? can money buy true friends? you answer that.

11 months ago Flag

What you're missing is a crash-course on what happiness TRULY is. Sure, you could be happy when your dad buys you the new iPad that came out, or when you see that you have a flatscreen and BluRay no one has or whatever, but really? that's not happiness.

"Some people are so poor that the only thing they got is money"

Really, money won't buy you happiness at all. You can't buy true friends with money, nor you can't buy a loving family with money. You can't buy love with money.
That is what you are missing: love. And, sadly or gratefully, depending on your point of view, love has NO price.

I wrote a seminar for one of my classes on how money affects happiness.
10 case studies I included say you're wrong. Money doesn't define happiness.

What are you missing? I don't know. Maybe a loving family, education, hobbies, friends who don't care about money?
How should I know? It's your life, you're the only one who can find that out. Get off of the Internet and go figure it out.

No amount of meaningless things I write here will define you what happiness is. It varies from person to person. Only thing they all have in common is love.

1) I'm a girl.
2) I've written over 140 comments. There is no possible way you could've read all of them to come here and tell me in such a condescending way that I'm bashing every single thing people say.
3) It's unfair to attack me for having something to say on the topic, just because you can't advise anything to the OP.
4) Due to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights adopted in 1948, you and I are equally entitled to the freedom of speech. The fact that you don't like me is irrelevant. I don't depend upon strangers' affections.
5) Look up the definition of a bully. I definitely did not bully anybody in this post.
6) GTFO? Hypocritical, aren't we?
