A fan theory states that there are over 280 TV shows that exist in the same Universe! Learn about it

Due to crossovers and spinoffs, some believe that 280+ TV shows all take place in the same universe, which exists inside the head of an autistic child - it's called the Tommy Whestphall Universe Hypothesis! Artist Nicholas W Skyles has designed a "poster" and a new way to read Tommy's mind. The Tommy Westphall Multiverse, also known as The Hypothesis, a name given to it by someone who wanted to tear down this silly internet meme, was born in the depths of usenet-at alt.tv.homicide, specifically. In particular, Tom Fontana, an Executive Producer on Homicide Life on the Street, who actually liked putting these links in.

To his huge nerd credit, apart from crossing over characters from Elsewhere, Law & Order, before it had a franchise of its own, and Chicago Hope, he also threw in references to companies that tied his little worlds together. For example, the hospital management company that ran St Eligius in Elsewhere was called Ecumena. That was taken over by the Weigert Corporation, which later turned up in Oz to take over the prison hospital. That’s why we didn’t strictly abide by character crossovers alone; plus if we knew the producers meant the reference to be there, we kept stringing shows into the grid.

None of it was ever meant to be taken too seriously, but it was amazing the number of crossovers that have invaded television. Even discounting the tenuous links there are masses of character crossovers in the Multiverse – easily the bulk of the links in the original spreadsheet and now Nick Skyles’ new design.

Harry Potter and Voldemort were characters in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen!

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen is a comic book series written by Alan Moore, who you might recognize from the writing of Watchmen and V for Vendetta. The original concept behind the comic book series was for it to be the "Justice League of Victorian England," although the comic quickly became a vehicle to bring in several works of fiction into one world. The first volume became the basis for the 2003 adaptation starring Sean Connery (which flopped at the box office).

In volume III of the comic, Harry Potter was scarred by a villain called Oliver Haddo with the mark of the beast to become the antichrist (!). His adventures were set up to fulfill that purpose. This drove Harry insane to the point that he killed every student in Hogwarts! As it turns out, Oliver Haddo had possessed Voldemort and is eventually beheaded by Harry, who keeps his head in a cage.

South Korea now has a Toilet Theme park!

The park, located in Suwon, South Korea, is dedicated to the memory of Sim Jae-duck. He was the former mayor of Suwon and had a life-long obsession with toilets, to the point where he founded the World Toilet Association, wrote a book called "Happy To Be With You, Toilet," and even build a house shaped like a toilet that is the centerpiece of this park.

The park opened earlier in the year, and also features a museum dedicated to toilets. It includes high-tech (and useable) toilets, toilet signs from around the world, an art gallery of art inspired by toilets and even poop-shaped souvenirs!

The Russians donated 100 ft monument on the 5th anniversary of 9/11 located in New Jersey!

The monument is called “The Teardrop” and is aligned with the Statue of Liberty. It was made, donated, and installed by the Russian people as a statement against terrorism and given to the US on the 5th anniversary of September 11th. The monument was created by artist, Zurab Tsereteli. The walkway around the monument is made of stone and has the names of 9/11 victims carved into them. Names of people who died on 9/11 are inscribed on a large stone at the base of the monument like that of the Vietnam Memorial wall.

The Teardrop Memorial is officially entitled To the Struggle Against World Terrorism and located at the northeast corner of Bayonne Peninsula in New Jersey. The artist, Tsereteli was moved by the mourning over the 9/11 attacks while walking through Moscow. He idea of a tear formed in his mind and he went to visit Ground Zero and then looked to the New Jersey waterfront for a good site to place a monument to honor the victims of the attack.

Claudette Colvin resisted bus segregation nine months before Rosa Parks.

At the age of 15, Claudette Colvin refused to move to the back of the bus and give up her seat to a white person- 9 months before Rosa Parks did the same thing. Colvin remembers that she was taking the bus from high school on March 2, 1955. The bus driver ordered her to get up and she refused.

This event actually occurred on “Negro” history month, when her segregated school was learning about black leaders like Harriet Tubman and Sojourner Truth. “It felt like Sojourner Truth was on one side pushing me down,” she says, “and Harriet Tubman was on the other side of pushing me down. I couldn’t get up.” Not surprisingly, she was arrested.

After her arrest, she found herself shunned by parts of her community. She eventually became pregnant. When civil rights groups wanted to bring a case up to the US Supreme Court, they chose Parks over Colvin as a plaintiff because they thought she wouldn't be as sympathetic because of her pregnancy.
