You cannot legally watch MLK’s “I Have A Dream Speech” for free!

It's copyrighted material, and it costs $10 to get any video/audio or $20 for the entirety of the speech that changed the United States’ history forever. Dr. King’s family owns the rights to his speech until the year 2038!

But why is it copyrighted? Usually speeches are in the public domain, such as Obama’s “Yes We Can” speech. However, The estate of Dr. King sued Twentieth Century Fox in 1963 for selling records of his speech without permission. Since then, the speech has been disputed to be in the public domain as well as staying copy-written. What do you think? Should speeches be automatically in the public domain? The final race in the movie ‘Cool Runnings’ featured footage from the actual heat when they crashed in 1988!

The film was based on the true story of the 1988 Winter Olympics in Canada where the Jamaican bobsled team competed for the first time. They were the obvious underdogs for being the only tropical team in a winter sport.

Their final race in the movie actually had footage from the real crash in the 1988 Winter Olympics. The story is a loose retelling, as all the characters in the film are fictional. One part that was true, though, was the real team was inspired by pushcart racing and track sprinters.

A man created a principality off the coast of England in an abandoned sea fort!

It's the Principality of Sealand, and it is located 6 miles off the coast of Suffolk, England. The principality is unrecognized as an independent state by any other sovereign state. However, a British court ruled that the UK did not have jurisdiction over the tiny town located on a former WWII sea fort.

The man who created the principality is former British Major Paddy Roy Bates. He established his Principality in 1967 and his close friends and relatives claim it is an independent sovereign state. However, despite his title, it is doubtful that we'll ever see the Prince of Sealand invited to Buckingham palace anytime soon.

The prince of Sealand does not live IN Sealand, rather Prince Roy and his family live in mainland England. One of the current plans for the tiny state is to create an online casino.
