Vocal coach Jaime Vendera can shatter glass using only his voice.

In fact, Vendera performed this amazing feat on MythBusters! He’s been able to do it several times, and learned how from his own vocal teacher. Still, his appearance on MythBusters is a rare occurrence where the feat has been performed on camera. Oddly enough, Vendera is a rock singer, not an opera singer like you would expect.

Anne Frank has a YouTube channel.

Anne Frank died in a Nazi concentration camp when she was 15, decades before the Internet, so she obviously didn't start her own YouTube channel. The channel, however, is full of excellent information, including pictures, interviews with people who knew her, videos of her hometown, and some rare footage of Anne Frank herself! You can also see the house that she and her family hid in, as well as a complete digital recreation of the secret annex. It's definitely worth a look. Check it out!

You’ve probably heard of dogs being used in therapy. But, elephants?

Thailand has been experimenting using elephants in therapy for autistic children, in much the same way that doctors in the West have been using dogs and more controversially, dolphins. Autistic children are being offered the chance to feed, brush, and play with elephants, in the hopes that the opportunity will help the patients overcome some of their sensory issues. So far, the program has only been tested on 4 autistic boys in Thailand. Though the kids had a great time, that’s too small a sample size to determine its effectiveness. Hopefully, elephant therapy catches on. Who says therapy can’t be fun?

The number of indigenous people within Brazil fell from 6 million in the 1500s to 100,000 in the 1950s.

The roughly 2000 nations of mostly semi-nomadic native tribes of pre-Columbian era Brazil steadily disappeared after the arrival of European settlers. Millions died from disease, war, and slavery over the centuries. Many others were assimilated into the Brazilian population. Today, the Brazilian indigenous population is on a slow rebound after an all-time low population of around 100,000 in the 1950s. There are now around 735,000 indigenous people living in 24 of the 27 states in Brazil. Among them there are 235 different ethnicities speaking over 170 unique languages.

You can learn more about the indigenous people of Brazil at the Society for Threatened People's website.

The Partnership for a Drug-Free America accepted millions of dollars in funding from alcohol, tobacco, and pharmaceutical companies.

The Partnership is a non-profit organization that was founded in the 1980s to combat the U.S.’s illegal drug problem. It became well-known for its print and television advertisements, including the “This Is Your Brain on Drugs” ad. Regardless of whether or not the ads were effective at reducing drug use, they certainly did gain a lot of attention.

However, it was also revealed in the 1990s that the Partership also received millions in funding from companies that produce legal drugs, including Camel and Marlboro cigarettes, Budweiser and Miller beer, and Jim Beam whiskey. Under public scrutiny, the Partnership for a Drug-Free America ceased its relationship with tobacco and alcohol companies in 1997, though they continue to this day to receive money from the pharmaceutical industry. This is despite the fact that prescription drug abuse now claims more lives annually than cocaine and heroin combined.
