"The Real Slim Shady" was written a few hours before the album was due!

The record company wanted Eminem to have a track to introduce the rappers third album "The Marshal Mathers LP," much in the same way that the song "My Name Is" introduced his previous album "The Slim Shady LP." 

When the record company asked this, Eminem got to work and wrote it with only a few hours before the final cut of the LP was due to the record company! The song was released as the first single and became one of his biggest hits. It was his first song to hit the top of the charts in the UK and peaked at #4 in the Billboard top 100.

He is widely considered to be one of the best directors of all time. He only filmed 13 movies in his 46 year career, but they're all considered masterpieces and are the best of their genre. His works are timeless, but they weren't recognized by the peers of his time. While his movies were nominated for multiple awards, the only Oscar he ever won was for 2001: A Space Odyssey. The category? Special Effects.

Blue-eyed people might descend from ONE common ancestor!

Having blue eyes is a genetic mutation that results in the body's inability to produce melanin to make eyes brown, which is the natural color. Between 6000 to 10000 years ago, a genetic mutation occurred that made a single human person lose the ability to make brown eyes. 

Their research showed them that people with blue eyes from all around the world have the same gene changes that are linked to the one mutation that makes their eyes blue. Brown eyed people have different genes in that same DNA strand, so they believe that this indicates blue eyed people all come from the same ancestor!

Sean Connery could have been Gandalf!

For many people Sean Connery was the perfect and logical choice to play Gandalf before it was known that Ian McKellen would play him. In fact, it was reported that Peter Jackson even offered him the role, but he turned it down.

His reason was that he'd never read the J.R.R. Tolkien book and that he didn't understand the script. By turning it down, he lost out on 15% of worldwide receipts from the movie. That would have earned Connery as much as $400 million!
