Dead frogs’ legs can shake when they are sprinkled with salt!

The key is the frog legs must be fresh and skinned. The cells in the frog are still intact and the biochemical machinery still works.

The cells contain unused ATP which is a coenzyme found in all organisms and used as an energy carrier. The muscle only needs an activator to release the ATP stored in the cells to make them contract or relax.

There is a limited amount of ATP stored in the cells, mind you, so the movement will end. Galvani was the first scientist to show that electricity could activate frog legs and since salt contains sodium ions, it can create voltage differences, much like electricity.

3:44am is the most common time to wake up at night!

A study found that in Britain, 3:44am is the most likely time for someone to wake up. Why? Factors such as dripping faucets, snoring, noisy neighbors, pawing pets, and kicking partners cause most of the waking issue, although scientists do not know why that time is so much more common. Many complained of eating too late and intake of caffeine as being other issues that caused them difficulty in falling asleep, along with stressors such as money and work.

Antarctica is a desert!

There is little precipitation in Antarctica since it is a polar region. It has neither lakes nor rivers and is actually the driest continent.

It is known as the world’s driest desert, because in its interior region the extreme cold freezes the water vapor out of the air.

Annual snowfall is equal to less than 5 centimeters of rain. Antarctica is also the only place in the world not claimed or owned by any country.

Sleeping or lying down in a cold water tub for a long time reduces injuries.

Cold water and even ice water can significantly reduce the onset of muscle soreness and is a natural pain reliever.

The change of temperature when an athlete leaves a cold water tub back to room temperature helps relieve the muscles much better than any heating devices.

The tub can house more people than other therapies to have optimal care for athletes. The ColdTub is designed like a hot tub, but with cold or ice water for therapy uses.
