George Reeves, who starred as Superman in the 1950's TV series, was frequently assaulted by children wanting to test his invulnerability.

George Reeves was always cautious when interacting with children who were fans of Adventures of Superman, because on multiple occasions they thought he was really Superman and tried to test his invulnerability. Most often, kids would come up to him and try assaulting him, but what one kid did really blew away the rest. At one appearance in costume, George Reeves greeted a young boy who quickly pulled a pistol out and pointed it at him. The boy had taken the pistol, a Luger, from his home. It had belonged to his father, who had brought it home after World War II. He wanted to shoot Superman to see if he was really invulnerable like on the TV show. Reeves didn't want to say he wasn't really Superman, because it would have ruined the entire appearance and possibly upset the child. He managed to get out of it by convincing the child if he shot him, the bullet could bounce off him and hurt someone else.

It has been scientifically proven that the less you know, the more you think you know.

This is known as the Dunning-Kruger effect. The basic idea behind it has been a well-established rule for centuries. Charles Darwin, for instance, has stated "Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge". It has been empirically proven in 1999, by psychologists David Dunning and Justin Kruger in their report "Unskilled and Unaware of It: How Difficulties in Recognizing One's Own Incompetence Lead to Inflated Self-Assessments". This was proven through a study in which participants take tests of their logical reasoning skills, grammatical skills, and humor, and then estimate their own abilities in those subjects. Those participants who scored in the bottom quartile grossly overestimated their own abilities. Those in the12th percentile had estimated themselves to be in the 62nd percentile. Overall, Dunning and Kruger found that incompetent people overestimate their own skill level, fail to recognize the skill of other people and fail to recognize their own inadequacy. Also, as they receive training to improve their skills, incompetent people tend become more aware of their own inabilities. Read more about the Dunning-Kruger effect in Wikipedia. A photo taken at Disney World captured a married couple 17 years before they'd even met!

Alex and Donna Voutisinas thought the first time their paths had crossed was when the couple had begun working together at a hotel. As it turns out, they had come within feet of each other at Disney World when they were just toddlers! They came to this startling realization just days before their marriage while searching for baby pictures to be used at their reception. While looking at a photo of Donna's family taken at the 'happiest place on Earth,' Alex saw HIS FATHER pushing a stroller in the background! As it turns out, both the bride and groom's families had been vacationing on that same day, and they had the photographic evidence to prove it. I guess it just goes to show that "it's a small world after all"... Most epic photobomb ever.

Japanese high schools have a ghost story similar to Bloody Mary in America!

Her name is Hanako-san and though the story has its variations, she is normally found on the third floor, in the third stall of the girl’s restroom in schools. She is said to have bobbed hair with a red skirt and to have originated as early as the 1950s or the 1980s.

She will disappear into thin air if you show her good grades, too! If you want to provoke her, ask her if she is there and she’ll answer in a girl’s voice. If you open the door, then she’ll pull you into the toilet!

There are many variations of who she is or where she came from. One of the most common stories are that she was a girl killed in WWII during a bombing while playing hide-and-go-seek in the restroom. Another is that she was an abused girl who hid in the bathroom of the school where she met her untimely death at the hands of her abuser. So, if you ever go to Japan, watch which bathroom stall you use!

Captive Dolphins commit suicide!

One of the major causes of death among captive dolphins is suicide. They kill themselves in many different ways from just refusing to eat all the way to the extreme of smashing their heads against walls!

Dolphins sometime have trouble adapting to new ways of life. For instance, dolphins mainly rely on raw fish diets that they hunt for themselves. When in captivity, they are fed pieces of fish from humans, which can shock the dolphins and send them spiraling into suicide.

Dolphins die from smashing their heads on the walls, but it is not always intentional! Many times, the dolphins will get excited and not understand the boundaries of the tanks they are in, so much so that they accidentally continually crash into them!
