A woman created a baby cage that suspended out of windows to give infants in yard-less apartments sunlight and fresh air!
Who would suspend their baby in a cage from a building? In 1923, Emma Read of Spokane, Washington patented the baby cage to add space to small apartments for babies and give them light and fresh air. It was finally built in 1937 the cage and it distributed to members of the Chelsea Baby Club.
The cage was also to be used as a potential bed with curtains to keep out any draft! Would you use a baby cage?
