You’ll soon be able to buy an all-electric Delorean!

In 2011, the DeLorean Motor Company announced they are going to release an electric version of the DeLorean, the famous car from Back to the Future.

The car is powered by a 32-kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack and has a 125-mile per hour top speed with a range of 100 miles. Published specs claim a 0-60 time of 4.9 seconds, but the target is now under six seconds.

The price for all that fun and nostalgia is $95,000. The car will be assembled in Houston, TX with help from Lousiana’s Epic EV.

There’s no flux capacitor on the bad boy, but it is still pretty cool that they are going to start producing the DeLorean again.

The Acclaim, Activision and Accolade video game companies chose their names to be before Atari in phone books!

Accolade was a gaming company founded in 1984 by Alan Miller and Bob Whitehead, the same people who had previously started up the gaming company Activision.

Activision was the world’s first ever third party game developer. Miller and Whitehead chose the name Activision, because it came before Atari alphabetically and likewise they chose Accolade, because it came before Activision alphabetically.

Each was to make a statement of superiority over the rest; the whole “you want to be at the top of the list in the phonebook” idea. Later some other ex-Activision employees started up their own gaming company, Acclaim, named for, you guessed it: it being alphabetically ahead of Accolade.

Then, another group of ex-Activision employees said “hey, we can do it too!” and they started up Absolute Entertainment, which became the ultimate alphabetically first gaming company. So, the real question to ask is whose controller is bigger and better?

Southwest Airlines and Stevens Aviation solved a dispute with a CEO arm wrestling match!

Boys will be boys. Southwest Airlines and Stevens Aviation agreed to a friendly contest to decide the rights to a slogan. Stevens Aviation had been using the slogan, “Plane Smart” for a year before Southwest unknowingly began using the slogan “Just Plane Smart” ad campaign.

Steven Aviation thought that it would cost too much time and money in lawyers and fees. Instead, he proposed that they hash it out by each company sending its top warrior to battle it out. He proposed a one-on-one arm-wrestling competition before employees and media.

The best two out of three matches would win the rights to the slogan–and the loser of each match would donate five thousand dollars to a charity of the winner’s choice. The two companies’ CEO’s took the challenge. Southwest Airlines ended up losing and its CEO blamed it on a hairline fracture and a cold he was suffering from.

You can tell a lot about a Mack Truck depending on whether the bulldog is gold- or chrome-plated!

The Mack truck company's trademark is the bulldog. It is found on the front of almost all Mack trucks. A Mack truck with a gold-plated bulldog means that the entire truck is made of Mack components.

Trucks with another manufacturer's transmission, engine, rear axles or suspension are given the chrome-plated bulldog. Mack trucks got its nickname in 1917 during World War I when the British government purchased the Mack AC model to bring more troops, food, and equipment to its front lines.

British soldiers nicknamed the truck the "Bulldog Mack", because they said it had "the tenacity of a bulldog." Its pugnacious, blunt-nosed hood, along with its incredible durability reminded the soldiers of the stubborn qualities of their country's mascot, the British Bulldog.

The logo was first used in 1921 for the AB chain drive models and made the official corporate logo in 1922. They’ve been making trucks ever since with quite a lot of success.
