There is a rainbow colored Tree

The Eucalyptus Deglupta is a tall tree, otherwise known as the rainbow eucalyptus. It is found in the northern hemisphere, in places like New Britain, new guinea etc.

The tree sheds patches of its bark and exposes a fresh bright-green bark. Eventually the color and then darkens. It it will through blue, purple orange and maroon hues. The tree sheds its bark at various times throughout the year, which gives it its rainbow color.

Touching a small amount of Tellurium will make you smell like rotting garlic for weeks!

Yum...who wouldn't want to smell like rotting garlic?

The smell of the element Tellurium is so strong that just touching a miniscule of it will make you smell like rotting garlic for almost a month.

This could be a good thing if you're trying to keep the vampires away. It could be a bad thing if you're trying to get a date.

Tellurium isn't the only element with a cool story.  Arsenic is commonly added to chicken feed and a chunk of Gallium would melt in your hand.

A marathon was ran in space!

Sunita Williams, the astronaut who currently holds the record for the most days in space for a female (195) also holds another record!

On April 16, 2007 she completed the first marathon ran by someone in orbit. Her sister ran the marathon on earth while Sunita ran the marathon in space.  They were updated on each other's progress throughout the race.  Sunita finished the Boston Marathon in 4 hours and 24 minutes.

In 2008 Sunita Williams once again ran the Boston Marathon but this time on earth.

A fir tree was found in a man's lungs suspected of having cancer!

In 2009, Russian doctors operated on Artyom Sidorkin to remove what they thought was a tumor in his lung. When they opened him up, they were surprised to find a fir tree growing instead! Doctors speculate that the man must have inhaled a seed that eventually sprouted and grew inside him. The growing branches were even started to cause him to cough up blood because they were puncturing his lungs!

Diamonds can literally fall from the sky!

In 1981, researchers from the Smithsonian tried to cut an iron meteorite that had crashed in Antarctica. When their blade got destroyed, they tested it with X-rays and found that the meteorite was full of microscopic diamonds! They speculated that the diamonds had been formed after a collision in the asteroid belt. There have been other instances where similar meteorites have originated from deep space and crashed into the earth.

But not all diamonds fall down completely formed. Scientist have also seen that diamonds form in the fiery instant when meteors and meteorites hit the earth. Interestingly, the structure of these diamonds is hexagonal, different from the cubic structure of Earth-grown diamonds.
