There's a suit that can make you feel like you're 75!

Scientists from MIT have created a suit that makes its wearer feel like they're 75. A large number of people in the United States will be around that age really soon, due to the baby boomer generation aging.

What would you use this suit for? It's meant for architects, store designers and other people that have to design things for older people. There will be a disconnect between the younger people building everything, and the older users. This suit will allow them to bridge that gap. It will help young people test drive their designs in an old person's body, so to speak.

How does it work? It has giant rubber bands that keep your arms stiff and you can't extend your extremities. A helmet keeps your spine curved in an uncomfortable position. It even comes with glasses that give you poor vision.

There is a medical powder that will clot even major wounds almost instantly!

Quikclot is a powder produced by ZMedica to aid the military, law enforcement, and emergency response markets. The powdered substance is poured on the wound, even arterial wounds, and clots the wound almost instantaneously!

It is easily cleaned out of the wound with water or wiped out with sterile cloth. Then the body reacts to the Quikclot and centralizes all its clotting abilities to the wounded area. Mark Wahlberg famously uses the product in Shooter, where his character, Bob Lee Swaggert, gets shot and applies Quikclot to the wound from a first aid kit in a police car.

Samoa is time travelling this Thursday!

The South Pacific nation of Samoa is currently one of the last places on earth where days end. It's about to become one of the first! When the clock ticks midnight on Thursday, the nation will officialy mark the start of Saturday, December 31st.

This means that Friday, December 30, 2011 will officially not exist in the tiny island nation. They're skipping time!

This is because they are one day behind of their closest trade partners: China, New Zealand and Tonga, for example. Up until now, they have always been one day behind, so they lose one workday that they could use to do business with other countries.

From space, there is a phantom city in North Dakota!

From space, there appears to be an enormous city in the middle of North Dakota due to light pollution from oil fields. The Bakken oil fields of North Dakota create a light that looks like a city from space.

This is due to the light pollution from the fields and can also be attributed to natural gas flares. In North Dakota, 17 percent of the natural gas at the oil fields is flared. Comparatively, this only happens to about 1 percent nationally!

Much needs to be done about this waste and it has been suggested to harness the gas and use it as energy.
