The tiger's stripes are a lot like our fingerprints

The tiger's stripes are a lot like our fingerprints. No two tigers have exactly the same pattern. Despite this, all tigers have the same mark on their forehead. It actually resembles the Chinese character for "king". Since tigers are the largest cats in the wild, with adults getting as large as 220 pounds, one could argue that the tiger, not the lion is the king of the jungle. Of course, since lions live in Africa and tigers live in Asia, it really doesn't matter.

The Fort Worth Zoo has more fun facts about tigers.

Alligator and crocodile teeth are hollow.

All crocodilians have replaceable teeth and can go through at least 3,000 over the course of their lifetime! This is the reason each tooth is hollow - the new tooth grows inside the old one in order to be ready once the old tooth is lost. Young crocs can replace their teeth at a rate as high as one new tooth per socket each month!

A Chinese woman quit her job and sold her house and car in order to adopt over 1,500 dogs and 200 cats.

Ha Wenjin started out with only a few dogs, but gradually expanded until she had her own animal shelter that she had to tend to full-time. She even has 12 workers helping her (10 for the dogs and 2 more for the cats). Additionally, she had a number of volunteers.

Sadly, the Chinese reclaimed the land that she built her animal shelter on, so she has to relocate.

You have to check out these pictures. I've never seen so many dogs.

Chinese Internet software listed images of Garfield the cat as pornography.

Back in 2009, China mandated that computers across the country install its Green Dam Internet filtering software. The program was set to detect the amount of "skin" that is viewed in images on the Internet. The image scanner proved to be a bit faulty, blocking images of Johnny Depp, Garfield and flesh-colored pork! It also blocked images of Paris Hilton, but we do not consider this to be a glitch.

This must have been quite a blow to the millions of Garfield fans in China.
