For all his heroics, Harry Potter only managed to destroy ONE of Voldemort's seven Horcruxes, and that was three years before he even knew what one was!

For those of you who aren't down with Harry Potter, here is a bit of background (SPOILER ALERT if you haven't read past the fourth book and don't want to know how the series ends) - a Horcrux is an object into which a Dark wizard has cast part of his soul. The logic behind this process is that the wizard will have achieved immortality so long as the Horcrux is never destroyed. Even if the wizard's physical body is destroyed, a part of their soul will still remain in the Horcrux, and there are magical ways to create a new body in which to house their soul fragment.

Nevertheless, this was apparently not good enough for Lord Voldemort, the most fearsome Dark wizard who ever lived. He wanted more of a guarantee on immortality, so he decided to split his soul into SEVEN different parts for SEVEN different Horcruxes! However, the major catch when creating a Horcrux is that a murder must be committed each time a wizard's soul is to be fragmented. Voldemort chose to place the parts of his soul into objects which he considered to be meaningful (and one which he didn't count on!):

1. Tom Riddle's Diary - destroyed by Harry Potter with a basilisk fang
2. Marvolo Gaunt's Ring - destroyed by Albus Dumbledore with Godric Gryffindor's sword
3. Salazar Slytherin's Locket - destroyed by Ron Weasley with Gryffindor's sword
4. Helga Hufflepuff's Cup - destroyed by Hermione Granger with a basilisk fang
5. Rowena Ravenclaw's Diadem - destroyed by Vincent Crabbe with a Fiendfyre curse
6. Harry Potter - murdered by Lord Voldemort with the Killing Curse
7. Nagini the snake - beheaded by Neville Longbottom with Gryffindor's sword

In the original Wizard of Oz novel, Dorothy wore silver slippers.

The color of the shoes was changed from silver to ruby by screenwriter Noel Langley in order to take full advantage of filming in Technicolor! When trying to design an appropriate pair to film, Oz's costuming department experimented with several different types of slippers. The most vivid-looking looking ones turned out to be a pair adorned in bright red sequins. The cost of producing the gaudy-looking slippers was estimated to have been about $15.

These shoes now are a beloved Hollywood icon, but they lay forgotten in a MGM storage room for several years! An estimated 6-10 pairs were originally produced, of which only four now remain. What are thought to be Judy Garland's original shoes were purchased at a studio auction in 1970 and are now housed at the National Museum of American History in Washington, D.C.

J.K. Rowling does not actually have a middle name.

Rowling's first name is Jo, which is short for Joanne. When Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone first came out, her publisher thought the book would sell better to their target audience of young boys if they did not realize it was written by a woman. Therefore, instead of having the book be written by "Joanne Rowling," she was asked to use her initials. Rowling obliged, but since she did not have a middle name, she decided to use her favorite grandmother's name - Kathleen.

Jasmine is the only Disney princess who is not the main character of her movie.

This may come as a surprise at first, but think about it - EVERY other princess is the focus of their movie's narrative. The titles of all the other movies mention the princess by name, nickname, or an allusion to their character:

-Pocahontas, Mulan, Cinderella, and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (duh)
-Sleeping Beauty refers to Princess Aurora, who is doing the sleeping
-The Little Mermaid - Ariel is a mermaid and the youngest of all her sisters
-Beauty and the Beast - Belle is one of these two...we'll let you guess which
-The Princess and the Frog - Tiana is the frog's princess
-Tangled - a reference to the Rapunzel's long hair

............Aladdin? Not so much. Though she was a big part of the story, Princess Jasmine was not the protagonist in her film.

When Mel Blanc was in a coma, he would only speak to his doctor in the voices of Bugs Bunny and the other Looney Tunes characters he played.

According to his L.A. Times obituary, in 1961 Blanc lay in a coma at UCLA Medical Center after a car accident that nearly took his life. Each day while Mel was unconscious, his doctor would drop by his room and ask how he was doing. Mel never responded.

One day, the doctor got a crazy idea - he instead addressed Mel as his most famous cartoon character, saying, "Hey, Bugs Bunny! How are you?" Remarkably, this time Mel responded, in character: "Ehh, just fine, Doc. How are you?" The doctor continued, "And Porky Pig! How are you feeling?" True to form, Mel stuttered back, "J-j-j-just fine, th-th-th-thanks!" Blanc remained in a coma for a total of three weeks, and after he awoke he went straight back to work!
