The man who tackled the 2011 Tucson shooter was a 74yo war veteran who had been shot himself!

On January 8, 2011, 6 innocent people were shot dead while having a meeting held in a parking lot, and another 13 people were injured in the gunfire. The gunman appeared out of nowhere during the 'Congress at your Corner' open forum, and appeared to shoot randomly at people in the crowd with a semi automatic pistol featuring a 33 round magazine.

When the gunman stopped to reload, he dropped his magazine, where the bystander Patricia Maisch grabbed it. Distracted by Patricia, the gunman failed to notice another bystander running at him with a folding chair, and was hit on the top of the head which further dazed him.

Then, a 74 y ear old retired war veteran named Bill Badger, who had already been shot, ran at the gunman who was later identified as Jared Lee Loughner, and tackled him to the ground until police officials arrived on the scene.

It was because of the efforts of these three individuals, that Loughner was brought to justice and is now serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole.

Bailey's has real cream. The alcohol prevents it from spoiling for at least 2 years!

Bailey's Irish Cream, is an Irish Whiskey and cream based liqueur, with an alcohol content of about 17% - not too strong, and not too weak. Bailey's was initially created by a division of International Distillers and Vinters known as the Gilbeys of Ireland. The company was looking for a beverage they could sell on the international market, and in 1974, the world renowned liqueur was invented.

Through a process that is only known by few, the liqueur and cream that make up Bailey's Irish Cream are blended together so that they don't separate during storage. Storage, can last up to 30 months after the beverage was first distilled.

The whiskey contains no added preservatives, because the liqueur is acting as somewhat of a natural preservative which keeps the cream from spoiling, even after two years of sitting on the shelf.

If you have no debts and $10 in your pocket, you have more wealth than 25% of Americans

Wealth is unevenly distributed—throughout the world and throughout the United States. It is really really unevenly distributed. Six members of the Walton family, the family that owns Wal-Mart, have more wealth than the bottom 30% of Americans.

When you take into account debt, the wealth of many American families or individuals takes on a whole new light. In 2009, 1 in 4 American households had zero or negative net worth. This doesn’t necessarily mean this household doesn’t have any income, they could just have a lot of debt.

Hence if you have no debt and just $10, you very well could have more money than the lower 25% of Americans. Just count yourself a billionaire like the Waltons.

A racecar driver once drove from NYC to LA in 31 hours and 3 minutes!

Alex Roy is a rally race car driver that holds the record for fastest car trip across the United States. The previous record was set in 1983 by David Diem and Doug Turner. The two made the trip in 32 hours and 7 minutes.

Roy, along with his co-driver Jonathon Goodrich did a practice run in 2005 in 34 hours and 46 minutes. On Columbus Day weekend, October 7, 2006, Roy and his new co-driver David Maher set out to actually break the record.

They chose Columbus Day weekend so they would beat minimal traffic. In the end, the two men covered 2,794 mapped miles and 2,800 road miles in 31 hours and 4 minutes. They averaged 90 mph and reached speeds of up to 160 mph. However, they did avoid reckless driving, such as tailgating.

L. Ron Hubbard called himself a nuclear physicist. His only exposure to it was one class!

“All About Radiation” is book by L. Ron Hubbard, and as the title might imply it’s all about radiation. Or at least Hubbard’s thoughts on radiation. It is also one of the canonical texts of Scientology. It was first published in 1957 and later editions were printed by the Church of Scientology’s in house publisher, Bridge Publications.

The book is controversial because it makes a lot of questionable claims. One such claim is that radiation poisoning can be cured by a course of vitamins. In fact, radiation poisoning cannot be cured.

Considering the book’s content, you would expect Hubbard to be some sort of radiation expert or at the very least a scientist of some kind. Hubbard does call himself a nuclear physicist but this was false. His only degree came from Sequoia University, an unaccredited school. The only nuclear physics course Hubbard ever took was at George Washington University and he got an ‘F’ in the course.
