19 Astonishing Facts

Historians have discovered a lead booklet that contains what may be the earliest portrait of Jesus.

The mysterious image was found buried in a secret cave outside a small village in the country of Jordan. The booklet was one of a pile of 70 undiscovered books, each made of lead and 5 to 15 pages in length. Another lead plate contains a map of ancient Jerusalem with crosses carved outside the city walls, which is why the relics are assumed to be Christian. One of the phrases found in another book appears to say “Savior of Israel” in ancient Hebrew, so perhaps the books comprise some sort of previously unknown Gospel!

These unusual artifacts are thought to have been discovered between 2005 and 2007 during a flash flood but are currently in the possession of a Bedouin trucker. Unfortunately, he owner is refusing to sell them to archaeologists because he believes they have magical properties, but he has allowed them to test a pair of small samples.
