The only coach in Kansas basketball that has a losing record is the man who invented Basketball!

Although they recently lost the national championship to Kentucky, the University of Kansas has a tradition of excellence at Basketball. The program began officially in 1898 and since then has an all-time record of 2070 to 805 or a 0.720 ratio of wins to losses. They've won many conference championships and 3 national championships and are a staple of the annual NCAA tournament.

Their first coach was James Naismith, who had penned the first official rules of Basketball just 6 years before starting at the University. He started them off by playing teams from the YMCA, other colleges, and only 2 of the schools that make up their current conference. Ironically, to date, he's the only person to coach at Kansas to have a losing record. He won 55 games and lost 60.
