The only basketball coach to have a losing record at the University of Kansas is Dr. James Naismith, the INVENTOR OF BASKETBALL.
Pretty ironic, eh? Naismith not only invented the sport, he also founded Kansas' basketball program and was their first basketball coach. Unfortunately, his record as coach was 55-60, making him the only Kansas coach with a losing record.
Naismith is also often credited as inventing the first football helmet.
