Ireland made all happy hours illegal!

Ireland, sometimes known for their drinking, is one of the only countries to have actually BANNED happy hours! 

The happy hour was banned in Ireland in 2003 under the Intoxicating Liquor Act. A happy hour, which usually serves half price alcoholic drinks, could have been banned for multiple reasons.  Some say it was banned to lower alcoholic consumption while others say it was done to lower crime. 

Glasgow in Scotaland has also banned happy hours to try and stop binge drinking.  The only place in America to have also banned this fun hour is Massachusettes. They put a state-wide ban on happy hours in 1984.
