In England, there is a 'Chap Olympiad' where contestants compete in events like Umbrella Jousting and Shouting at Foreigners.

It’s been called Britain’s most gentlemanly sporting event and is held in Bedford Square, London. It is in its eighth year, and is basically what the name implies: a series of sporting events where competitors dress like stereotypes of the British upper class and take part in (generally inane) activities.

About 1,000 people attended the event this year to watch people compete for the title of Chap Champion. In addition to Umbrella Jousting, some of the activities included Butler Racing, Swooning, Ironing Board Surfing, and Not Playing Tennis. Points were scored based on victory, charisma, and good humor, and the winner earned The Gold Cravat, the gold medal equivalent.

The Master of Ceremonies, Tristan Langlois, had this to say on the games: “We don’t want to be overly nostalgic about it but an age in which the pace of life was slower, things seemed to matter less somehow, some of the banausic nonsense of the modern world mattered less and the richness of life mattered more, I think that’s probably what the appeal is.”
