“Extreme Ironing” is a sport!
You think you’ve mastered the art of pressing a shirt; think again. Extreme ironing is sport and “performance art” in which people take ironing boards to a harsh location and iron their clothing.
While it is largely considered “tongue-in-cheek,” the competitors are extremely serious about finishing off that laundry, even in the most brutal natural conditions. The performance have taken place on mountainsides, forests, canoes, while skiing or snowboarding, on top of bronze statues, etc.
They can be either solo or by groups. There are several competitions for Extreme Ironing, including the Extreme Ironing World Championships in Germany. So what other house-hold chores would you like to see go extreme; vacuuming, washing dishes, cleaning your room?
