According to scientists, a large blob of water the size of the Artic Ocean has been recently found under eastern Asia. Using seismic waves, scientists were able to locate this vast 'ocean,' although scientists are extremely particular that this is in fact not an ocean.
Nobody can explore this area because it is so far beneath the surface, but also because the water is locked in moisture-containing rocks up to 800 miles beneath the surface. Scientists believe the water penetrated the rocks through the process of plate tectonics. As the Earth’s plates shifted, the ocean bottom was pulled beneath the continental plates, filling the area with immense amounts of water!
