Each Pringles potato chip is a hyperbolic paraboloid.
Each of the (non-broken) chips are in this same double-saddle shape, which is actually a special kind of quadric surface in mathematics. So, if you ever wanted to know the equation for a Pringles chip (and I’m sure you have) it’s z=x^2/a^2-y^2/b^2. Now, who would’ve thought math would be so delicious?
