The U.S. government investigated making a “gay bomb”!

The plans for the “love bomb” involved an aphrodisiac chemical that would provoke widespread homosexual between soldiers. It was meant to cause a lethal blow to the enemy’s morale. The government came up with some other pretty kooky ideas. 

One of the ideas was to create a chemical that caused lasting and severe halitosis. The chemical would cause soldiers to stand out when with everyday citizens. Another idea for a chemical involved one that caused swarms of angry wasps or rats to attack enemy troops. They thought of a substance that caused unbelievably sensitive skin when exposed to the sun. 

The Sunshine Project obtained the information to the plans through a US Freedom of Information act request. The group monitors research into chemical and biological weapons. They also found that the US Air Force asked the Pentagon for funding for research on “harassing, annoying, and bad guy identifying chemical.”
