On Wednesday 20 June, 2012 17-year-old Brittany Trilford of Wellington, New Zealand addressed 130 heads of state at the opening plenary of the Rio+20 UN Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This is her speech.
Brittany Trilford is the Winner of TckTckTck's Win a Date with History contest. Win a Date With History received almost 200 entries from every corner of the globe. Over 83,000 people viewed & voted for finalists from each continent. A diverse jury of 42 people - made up of celebrities, authorities, youth leaders, Foundation leaders - selected Brittany as the winner from the finalists. Brittany won the opportunity to speak before world leaders at the Rio+20 UN Earth Summit and represent youth around the world. This is Brittany's Date with History.
