Looks like Japan isn’t all holograms and hot cosplayers. The YKK Group is a Japanese group of manufacturing companies. It is famous for being the world’s largest zipper/zip manufacturers, but we shouldn’t forget that it also manufactures an entire array of “fastening products.”
YKK has facilities in over 68 countries around the world, with the largest factory in good ol’ Georgia, USA. YKK claims to be the first zipper/zip company to promote protection measures; it has developed a line of “environmentally friendly zippers.” If you own a pair of jeans, there is a 9/10 chance that the zipper was brought to you by YKK.
So, if you’re ever feeling sad that you can’t fly over to Japan, just remember that you have a little piece of Japan attached to your fly.
