An ice cream parlor in Missouri sold cicada-flavored ice cream.

Sparky's Homemade Ice Cream in Columbia, Missouri, a company known for its innovative flavor, boiled cicadas and coated them in chocolate for their latest variety. Apparently, cicadas taste like nuts! The flavor was met with surprisingly great demand, and the one and only half-batch that was made sold out the day before it was set to debut. Ultimately, the Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services advised against continuing sales of cicada ice cream, and Sparky's halted production of the flavor.
