An 8 year old wrote to Lego asking how he could get a job with them and went on to become a Lego Designer.
It took 15 years, but he finally made his dream come true back in 2010, when he became a junior designer. His name is Sam Johnson, and at 8 years old he wrote to the Lego Company saying how much he loved Legos and asking how he could get a job. The Lego Company wrote him back and told him the path he’d need to take for that dream to come true, and of course he took it.
When he was 23 back in 2010, he completed a BA honors degree in Product Design at the University of Derby. His final project involved Legos, and Lego bosses soon caught on. When his ideas went on display at the New Designers Exhibition in London, he was offered a job in Denmark.
Johnson said he always dreamed of designing Legos for a living, and that the job is perfect for him. If you’re creative enough, maybe it’s something you could consider too. After all, Legos don’t seem to be going away any time soon.
