A rapist fooled DNA tests by surgically implanting a tube filled with blood in his arm and tricking the laboratory technician into having a blood sample taken from it.

If you’re ever desperate to fake a blood test, it looks like there’s an extreme for you to go to. Of course, you should probably have a bit of surgical know how beforehand. Better yet, it’s probably something to avoid doing entirely. A doctor from Zambia, however, thought it was a good idea.

He filled a tube with someone else’s blood and stuck it inside his arm to try and throw off a sexual assault investigation centering on him. The idea was that when a blood test was taken to see if the DNA matched with the DNA taken from the crime, the test would come up negative.

This was all the way back in 1992- and it worked. He walked away without a slap on the wrist. That only lasted a few years though, because in 1999 he was convicted for another assault and thrown in jail. After his release, he was deported from his residence in Canada.
