Rebecca Black has received multiple death threats over her “Friday” music video.
Anaheim police are currently investigating a pair of threats made against the teenage YouTube sensation. One threat was phoned in to her management firm, while the other was mailed to her production company. Both threats occurred back in March and claimed that the offending parties would kill Black if her music video was not taken down from the Internet.
Come on, people. Just because a song makes you want to kill YOURSELF doesn’t give you the right to attack the artist who produced it. YouTube dislikes and comments are one thing, but let’s be real - this is an otherwise-normal 13-year-old girl whose inadvertent success has done nothing to warrant such inexcusable treatment. Besides, the poor kid didn't write the song or produce the video, and you can't hear her real voice over the effects anyway, so she's barely responsible at all for "Friday".
