There was a sequel to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! The author REFUSED to let a movie be made out of it.

The sequel book was called Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator, but unlike Charlie and the Chocolate Factory it never was made into a movie. The children’s book was released in the US in 1972 and was about Charlie and Willy Wonka traveling to outer space in a glass elevator.

The author, Roald Dahl, was so angry with the film adaptation of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory that he refused to let them make a film of its sequel!
