There was a cat that predicted death!

Though the idea of a cat predicting death sounds like something out of a bad horror movie, this is a strange, true phenomenon. The residents of Steere House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Rhode Island were witnesses to a strange phenomenon in 2007. Oscar, a cat in the nursing home, would suddenly become very affectionate with certain residents just before they died. It happened at least 25 times, despite the cat normally being unfriendly to the patients.
Animal behavior experts say this is most likely caused by Oscar smelling a chemical given off by the body. Dogs, for example, have been shown to detect cancer and epilepsy. Jacqueline Pritchard, an expert in animal behavior, says "I don't doubt that the cat in this case is sensing death approaching. There's little we really know about it but as the body is shutting down, I would hypothesise that the cat is sensing and smelling the organs shutting down." What do you think about it all?
