Stephen Fry once mocked future astronaut Michael Foale about his dream to go into space.
Stephen John Fry is an English actor, screenwriter, author, playwright, journalist, comedian, poet, film director, and possibly one of the worst psychics ever. He studied at Queen’s College, Cambridge, with future astronaut Michael Foale.
When Michael told him about his space aspirations, Fry just mocked him. Fry graduated university with an English degree and Foale graduated with a doctorate in laboratory astrophysics, and “two pairs of jeans, a donkey jacket, a bicycle, and a pilot’s licence.”
Foale first joined the mission operations directorate of NASA in Houston at the age of 26, working as a shuttle’s navigation system. After being rejected 2 times, Foale was finally selected as an astronaut at the age of 30. Too bad that Fry couldn’t hear the “I told you so” from all the way down here on Earth.
