Only one man has ever played Peter Pan on Broadway.

That honor goes to one Jack Noseworthy, a relatively obscure actor who has had minor roles in musicals such as Cats and A Chorus Line and films such as U-571 and Event Horizon. In 1989, he was cast as Pan in Jerome Robbins’ Broadway, a short-lived anthology of musical numbers either directed or choreographed by Robbins. As he was only an understudy, Jack played the eternally youthful boy a handful only a handful of times, and because it was a revue, he only performed one song each time!

In the tradition of the original play, the official Peter Pan Broadway show has had nothing but women in the lead role. Beginning with the show’s original 1954 run, three women have performed as Peter: Mary Martin, Sandy Duncan, and former gymnast Cathy Rigby.
