Kelsey Grammer is the only actor to be nominated for multiple Emmy Awards for the same character in 3 different TV shows!

Grammer, whose full name is Allen Kelsey Grammer, is a 5 time Emmy Award winner. He played Dr. Frasier Crane on Cheers and received 2 Emmy nominations for his work there. Though the character originated as a regular patron of the bar, the character soon became much bigger than that.

He then received an Emmy nomination for a guest appearance on Wings playing the role of Dr Crane. Not content with being a guest character, Grammer reprised the role as Frasier, and was the star of a Cheers spin-off series, appropriately called Frasier where he received 9 Emmy nominations for playing the character.

Frasier the show was considered one of the smartest sitcoms on air at the time. Grammer has also received 2 Golden Globe awards, 2 American Comedy awards, and a People’s Choice award for his portrayal of Dr. Frasier Crane.
