Katherine Heigl starred in the lowest grossing movie of all time!

The film Zyzzyx Rd grossed a total of $20 at the box office! The gross was originally $30 but one person asked for his money back.

The reason for this was due to a very limited release that was necessary due to the Screen Actor's Guild regulations. Low-budget films that have a domestic release are allowed to pay the actors a lower salary than the usual standard.

The producers did not want to release the movie in the US before it went around international circles, so they rented one theater in Texas, and ran the movie for a week.

Unfortunately, the story got picked up and there was guye publicity for the movie being "the lowest grossing movie of all time." The producers of Zyzzyx Rd suffered a huge loss on the film, as it only grossed $20 and about $2,000,000 was put into it, and they still haven't released it domestically.

Since, then, Zzyzx Road was almost replaced by "The Worst Movie EVER!" as the lowest grossing movie of all time, it grossed $11 at the opening weekend, on it's way to a $5000 gross.
