In the show “Hannah Montana,” the actor who played her teenage brother was actually 34!
His is Jason Daniel Earles and he was born in 1977, making him nearly 30 when he began playing his teenage role as Jackson Stewart, Hannah Montana’s brother.
Born in San Diego California, Earles lived in both Washington and Ohio before settling in Oregon. He graduated from university in 2000 and then pursued his acting career.
Since becoming an actor he has stared in Hannah Montana, Phil of the Future, National Treasure, and even American Pie: Band Camp.
So why did the producers cast a 30 year old as a teenager? The answer is simple. Earles nailed the audition and they believed he would be perfect for the laid back and goofy role.
Although he was much older, he didn’t look to be 30 and they believed few would have guessed had they not been told.
