Gorillaz didn't actually break up in 2010!

Many people believe that the band Gorillaz broke up in 2010 and reunited for one final song in 2012, DoYaThing. This isn't actually true. It IS true that in 2010, the tension between the two creators of Gorillaz, Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett, became greater than ever though.

Jamai felt that people were starting care more about the music and less about his characters and art. The two creators had many disagreements while on tour in 2010 and were growing apart. Although they didn't split then, there is a likely chance they are splitting now in 2012.

In an interview with Damon Albarn, he said that new projects were "unlikely" yet from how he put it, it sounded as if he was willing to continue on but Jamie was done with the band. It is also impossible that they could have broken up in 2010 because that year they not only released Plastic Beach but also an online version of The Fall.

A physical version of The Fall came out in 2011. There is a chance that Gorillaz may continue but only if the two make up. If you like them, you should help the British virtual band stay!
