Ed, Edd, n Eddy was supposed to be a Nickelodeon cartoon.

These three musketeers lightened the childhood of many. Feeling “pigeon-holed” and “angst-ridden,” Danny Antonccui created Ed Edd n Eddy was a tribute to hand-drawn cartoons in the 1950’s. 

He based the three characters on himself and the activities of his two sons. It has also been noted that they hold personality traits of the Three Stooges. He spent months designing the show, and shopped it to Nickelodeon. 

But after they demanded creative control, he refused and took it to Cartoon Network, who were quick to accept it. Cartoon Network wanted him to show them more of his work, but decided to let him go at his own pace. 

A smart move, considering that the show as won and been nominated for various Leo, Reuben, and Kids’ Choice Awards.
