A silenced gunshot is still as loud as a jackhammer.
The movies would have you believe that a "silencer" does just that, silences the gunshot. So that loud "BANG!" sounds more like "pew-pew".
In reality, a gunshot gets as loud as 140 to 160 decibels. A silencer can only get it down to 120-130 decibels, which is still about as loud as a jackhammer.
