You might soon be able to take a party train between California and Las Vegas.
What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas; but what about in this new proposed Vegas - So Cal party train? The so-called X train will soon become a reality after an entrepreneur reached a deal with Union Pacific Railroad to add the 5-hour ride.
The train would have big-screen TVs, recliners and two ultralounges. The idea behind it is that people feel like they're in Las Vegas as soon as they step in. Vegas gets 25% of their tourism from Southern California so the train should be in high demand when it starts running in 2013.
Tickets would cost $99 each way and include a meal and drink. Of course, there will be a bar on board. The company will try to also get people to buy hotels and entertainment from them to keep costs low.
If you've ever driven between Las Vegas and California, you know traffic can be absolutely horrendous, so this direct train seems like a great idea.
