The small town of DISH, Texas changed its name 4 short years after the town had been founded from Clark to DISH. The town is pretty small, about 200 people live there. Founded in the year 2000 by Landis Clark, the town became a whole lot commercial in November 2005, when DISH Network came knocking.
They proposed a deal: in exchange for changing the name of the town to DISH, every resident of the town would get free basic TV service for 10 years, along with a free DVR from Dish Network. Despite what you might think, the name didn't cause major issues. Only 12 people attended the meeting when the decision was taken and no one opposed.
