New York has banned references to Dinosaurs, Halloween, Birthdays, Poverty and Dancing on its standardized tests.

In a sweeping attempt to make test language politically correct, the New York Department of Education has eliminated references to those terms for tests issued by the city.

The reason for this is because the department thought that they could be controversial, or stir negative emotions among students. For example, Jehova's Witnesses don't celebrate birthdays, and Christians might dislike references to halloween.

The changes are more for just religious reasons. They're also banning terms that may make students feel excluded. For example, the words poverty, divorce, disease, slavery and terrorism are also banned. What do you think? Is this a case of PC gone too extreme, or is it justified?
