Harrison Ford is a badass on and off the screen. He volunteers his services to mountain rescuers; using his personal helicopter, Bell 407, to get the job done. He even occasionally volunteers his flying skill and chopper to local police for rescue missions.
Ford saves the local sheriff’s department in Jackson, Wyoming (where he lives part time) $1000 a year. An example of Ford’s badass-ary; in 2000, he rescued 20 year old Sarah George and her friend Megan Freeman from the summit of Table Mountain in Idaho Falls.
By the time he found them, George was so overcome with dehydration and altitude sickness that she could hardly take any more steps. In fact, just before landing at Jackson’s St. Hospital, George vomited into the cap of an EMT worker. “I can’t believe I barfed in Harrison Ford’s helicopter,” she says.
