A Doritos commercial was broadcast deep into space.

Doritos held a contest to see who could create the best commercial for their products, and to make the showing even sweeter, they decided they would project it for aliens. The projected the 45-second commercial for a total of 6 hours into a solar system that is 42 light years away! 

It sounds like science-fiction, but our first communication with aliens might be telling them about our delicious, cheesy snacks! If that doesn’t convince them to make a visit, what would? An English college, the University of Leicester wrote about the project in its newspaper. 

The winning commercial pictures little animate Doritos who jump out of their bag as soon as the human is gone. The Doritos offered one of their own in a sacrifice to the salsa. When the human returns, the Doritos jump back into their bag and the human finds the sacrificed Dorito in the salsa.

In addition to playing for aliens, the commercial also played for English soccer fans during a Sunday night match.
