Wild baboons, like humans, can keep dogs as pets.
Male baboons will find puppies and kidnap them away from their families. The puppies grow up living with and traveling with the baboons. The baboons feed them and take care of them. They sleep with the baboons and become part of the baboon family. In turn, the puppies grow up to be protective guard dogs for the baboons.
