It is possible that elephants will completely disappear from Africa in five years!
This is a problem that is being aggravated because Asia is depleting wild and exotic animals. Many animals in Asia have already become extinct due to poaching in the continent. Ivory and rhino horns are a symbol of status.
In China and other Asian countries, the bones of many exotic animals, their blood, and their bile are considered medicinal remedies. Asia has made their tiger and rhinos go extinct from poaching.
Now, they’ve moved on to Africa. Many African cities have at least one Chinese restaurant, if not more. They are seeing more Asians migrating and visiting their continent than ever before. The reason is simple; they depleted their animal supply and are now using Africa’s supply.
Lion bones are shipped to Asia in lieu of tiger bones. Rhinos and elephants are poached by Africans who are being paid top dollar by Asians. In Vietnam, rhino horn is said to cure liver cancer and people will pay anything to get their hands on it, now. Poachers aren’t just killing selectively anymore, but they are killing whole families of elephants including those with the tiniest of ivory tusks.
At this rate, elephants will likely be extinct in Africa in just five years. We need to fight back.
