A Texas woman might have figured out a way to win the lottery multiple times!
Joan Gither, who has a PhD in Math, has won the jackpot lottery 4 times (18 out of 24 septbillion chance). Apparently, this extremely unlikely event is no coincidence. Because the state has to guarantee a certain number of winners, the tickets cannot be produced at random. There has to be a formula for creating them.
While she hasn't said anything about her winnings, reporters that live close to her believe she has figured out the formula that the lottery uses to produce the tickets, which includes things as elaborate as figuring out shipments to know where it's most likely to buy a winning ticket. The lottery's official position is that she's gotten lucky.
To date, she has won over 4 million dollars, either through luck or her secret method.
