A captured sea turtle had 74 pieces of trash in its stomach!
The stomach of a sea turtle accidentally captured off the coast of Argentina contained 74 pieces of garbage! This is because around 65 million tons of plastic ends up in our oceans EVERY YEAR!! In fact, 0.25 percent of all plastic ends up in the ocean. And since the plastic won’t biodegrade, the plastic waste ends up breaking up into smaller pieces, spreading across the oceans, getting caught in algae, or eaten by sea creatures.
